Prune Nourry

and the Catharsis Arts Foundation

From December 2024, sculptor Prune Nourry and her Catharsis Arts Foundation occupy the second floor for two years, turning the iconic space back into an artist studio to work and explore new practices through the Foundation.

During its residency, the Foundation will curate a total of 20 on-site conferences exploring the phenomenon of “catharsis” through an intersectional lens. These conferences bring artists, scholars and activists together in conversation to expand the impact of art in community.

About Prune Nourry and the Catharsis Arts Foundation

Prune Nourry has consistently expanded the boundaries of art through collaboration at the forefront of artistic discourse and social engagement. Believing in the transformative power of sculpture, and the idea that artworks infuse collective emotions with a ripple-like effect that can ignite positive change, she created the Catharsis Arts Foundation in February 2024 with Claude Grunitzky.

Using sculpture to amplify voices, the Catharsis Arts Foundation seeks to empower communities through collaborative art projects and long term support, promoting underrepresented stories and challenging the place of art in the world today.
